Odor Control Evaluation for Private Wastewater Treatment
DESCRIPTION:
The wastewater plant at the home of the New England Patriots is located within a small building, with its process tanks installed under the parking lot, and in an enclosed building. Large temporary storage tanks are located above ground to collect the intermiÂttent flow from events at Gillette Stadium. The plant also has storage capacity for "grey water," treated wastewater that is reused to flush the toilets at major events, reducing water demand needs. The Kraft Group is very proud of its state-of-the-art wastewater system. However, the development of Patriot Place, a iwc replica watches Âsizeable project built adjacent to the stadium, required a re-evaluation of the wastewater system. Its design did not consider odor potential or the possible impacts on the outdoor restaurants and luxury hotel with balconies that were part of the Patriot Place project.
Tech collected data for many different odorous compounds at different detention times. This data was then analyzed via dispersion modeling to calibrate existing conditions and examine the potential for future odor impacts at the new Patriot Place. The modeling included elevated receptors for a number of future hotel configurations, since each potential hotel had its own standard or proposed configuration. Tech used the data and modeling results to develop odor control recommendations for the plant. Tech then provided the Kraft Group with a letter that stated that the plant would not be an odor nuisance concern for future tenants with the implementation of the recommended improvements.

Key Points
- The development of Patriot Place required a re-evaluation of the Foxboro Stadium wastewater treatment plant for odor nuisance potential and unique wastewater flow patterns.
- Tech Environmental examined the system, studied its unique aspects, and made recommendations to the Kraft Group to ensure that the WWTP would not pose an odor nuisance concern.
