MassDEP eDEP Source Registration System

DESCRIPTION:

Tech Environmental has provided air quality technical support and advisory services to New England state environmental protection agencies since the 1980s. Tech has served as the Technical Support Contractor to the MassDEP's Air Quality Monitoring and Control Programs since 2004.

MassDEP recently converted the annual Source Registration submittal procedure to a new electronic system, known as eDEP. As the eDEP database and web-based interface were being developed, MassDEP sought the assistance of a firm with a broad understanding of both the basic needs of filers and the technical challenges inherent in the paper-to-digital conversion. Tech was chosen for this project, owing to our experience preparing over one hundred Source Registration submittals over the last ten years. Working closely with Mark Wert's staff, Tech provided rapid-response services to meet tight deadlines.

This effort began with a set of somewhat undefined goals, but by leveraging the collective air quality experience of Tech and MassDEP personnel, the team worked together to make eDEP a reality.
